Public Interest Litigation(PIL) filed a case on Vijay Shekhar owned company. The case was regarding lack of legal authorization when it comes to online postpaid wallet feature.
Petition Says, Paytm Payments Bank limited had initially an online payment license under section 22 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 by RBI in Jan 2017. Already Paytm is violating license by giving allow to loans or allowing credits. Violating Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, By providing Paytm Postpaid unauthorized access to personal information such as Aadhaar, PAN, transactions, etc. of customers. Paytm Postpaid wallet was illegal and RBI clearly saying that there is no information about operations of postpaid wallet. So the Delhi High Court asked the Central Government and the RBI to file affidavits against Paytm before the next hearing date of 3rd September.
